>Subject: audio cassette distribution

The decision was made official on Monday to close our old Language Lab.
We have a nice new multi-media center so we do still have some "Language
Space", but the Tandberg IS-10 is going and we're losing the nice space
that we had for duplicating tapes for students to take home.

Only one professor is concerned adout losing the audio lab, but most of
them are assuming that their students will still be able to get copies of
cassettes for home study.

I think I've found a corner for the Telex copier & one cabinet for master
tapes but gone are the days of students walking in and getting "instant"
copies. I need a new "system" for getting students copies of the tapes
they need.

How do the rest of you do this?

Do you consider an entire series as one set? (& "sell" at the beginning of
the term)
Do you copy tapes "on demand"?
Do you make X copies of chapter 5 as Spanish 101 finishes ch 4 so students
can exchange tapes?
???

The only other question I have (for now) is: what kind of volume are you
handling with your system?

If you respond directly to me I can compile the answers & send them back
to llti in one post.

Thanks!
