I stopped by the Cranberry Bog Wetlands around 12:30 to check for a least Bittern, as far as I know, unseen yet this year. After a few minutes, I spotted a bird, in flight away from me, heading toward the back of the Phragmites from an area at the back of the pond. . It was certainly the right size, and for a split second as it dropped into the reeds I saw what certainly appeared to be a buff patch on the upper wing coverts. I waited around for more than an hour-and-a-half without seeing it again, or hearing it. So FYI a Least Bittern appears to have returned.
