A Green Heron was at Bedell Bridge on Sunday, and at least one singing Vesper Sparrow was heard and subsequently found by Jeff MacQueen, and photographed and recorded by both of us.
The expansive open fields on the east side of River Road in Piermont yielded a singing Eastern Meadowlark, and an FOY Barn Swallow was spotted flying around among some likely resident tree Swallows. At one point, it zoomed into one of the nearby barns.
I heard one and a possible second Merlin briefly from the tall pines along the River Trail - Mink Brook, Hanover not far from the parking lot. Has anyone else detected Merlins there possibly nesting?
