Otto here,
Big flock of redpolls, (100+ birds) coming into 2 feeders with hulled sunflower seeds in waves. Waves of 20-30 birds (with a few outnumbered dickey birds...) would defend on the feeders, 5-10 minutes later, another group would decide it's their turn and displace the first group. This went on from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
It was wild. Any suggestions how to distinguish Common Redpolls from Hoary ones???
