My apologies. I thought my earlier message had posted from my iphone while I was watching > 250 Waxwings in two nervously active starling-like flocks alight in several trees along Mechanic Street in Lebanon near the intersection with Blacksmith Lane. This is just a rough (and I think conservative) estimate. I confirmed that both species were present, though Bohemians outnumbered the Cedars significantly in the group I saw. I wish I had more time to get a better count; it was a little like watching a school of fish! I did not notice any fruiting trees nearby and the flock was no longer there when I came back through about 2 hours later. But keep an eye out; there have been reports from around the state, so I'm not surprised that they are finally in our area; I was surprised by the numbers.
