For close to two hours we have been watching a distinctly different 
merlin from the one we had yesterday swooping down on jays and 
squirrels. Lots of near misses including one in which the feet of the 
jay clashed with the merlin.

The one we had yesterday had a lot of white spots down his back. This 
one has none of that.

Hope he catches a meal...
