I just walked the River Trail in Hanover and saw a drake Gadwall. He was hanging around the exposed flats in the river opposite the outlet of Mink Brook. Other waterfowl included Canada Geese, Wood Ducks, Mallards, Hooded Mergansers, Common Mergansers, and an apparent American Black Duck x Mallard hybrid. I also saw a kingfisher and heard a calling Merlin. Songbirds, however, were very quiet.
