As late as 3:28 PM, a Solitary Sandpiper was in the wet area by the drainage stream/dike on Campbell Flats Road. When I returned later, after 6:15, a Great Egret was in that wet area. It subsequently flew downstream and was in a wet area west of the river where visible looking northward from Route 132. This is presumably the same individual which has been sighted in that vicinity in recent days.
At 5:45 PM at the Pompy flats as viewed from Old Bridge Road, the male and female Northern Shovelers, reported by other observers earlier today, were still present, along with 5 Lesser Yellowlegs.
