3 PM was the earliest I could be free to go look for the Vesper Sparrow. It was snowing fairly hard at that point. At first there did not seem to be any birds around. Then a sparrow flew around the corner of the station. I could see white on the outer tail feathers, but no look at its front. Then a Song Sparrow appeared, and after waiting a few more minutes the Vesper reappeared on the ground where I got a good look at its breast and its eye ring.
Not a life bird for me, but one that I have not seen for many years!
