Logos Technologies LLC (Logos) is a technology research and development firm headquartered near the Dunn Loring metro station in Fairfax, VA. The company seeks a full-time mechanical engineer to support ongoing technology development efforts in our Fairfax, VA office. This position will support efforts in the areas such as ISR sensor design, high powered laser development, unmanned aerial vehicle integration, and hybrid powertrain research. The position is available immediately. Compensation is competitive based on qualifications and benefits are exceptional.

Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities
* Assist in the conceptual development and design of various systems from project proposal throughout kickoff.
* With moderate supervision, develop advanced and novel solutions to complex and highly constrained mechanical problems. Complete such solutions from conceptual design through detail design and manufacture.
* Work with and manage a broad set of subcontractors for component and subassembly manufacture.
* Take a primary role in the assembly, test, and manufacture of prototype and pre-production products.
* Assist in the creation and management of project deliverables, including, but not limited to detailed project plans, project schedules, resource plans, risk assessment/issue tracking, and status reports for customer and Logos management.
* Partner closely with Logos management and technical leads on technical direction and approach relating to project planning and execution.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering fields with 3-5 years of experience or a Master's degree and 2+ years of experience
* A thorough understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
* With only general direction, the ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
* The ability to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.
* Advanced GD&T knowledge.
* The ability to design to tight tolerances, moving parts, and be able to deconflict with other team members
* The ability to design to IP6x standards
* Proficiency in Solidworks, and MATLAB
* Experience in design for manufacture and machining for a range of materials and composites to include carbon fiber.
* Be a self-starter with ability to perform duties with minimal management and oversight.
* Take a pro-active approach to problem solving
* Proven/demonstrable communication skills
* Ability to function equally effectively as a team member on a group project or unmanaged on an individual effort
* Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
* Have or be able to obtain a secret clearance
Desired Qualifications
* Experience packaging optical and electrical assemblies
* Familiarity with surveillance/reconnaissance systems
* Experience with metalworking tools including manual and CNC mills, lathes, and knowledge of general metalworking principles
