This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, November 9th, 
2015.



A LARK SPARROW was seen at Greeley Park in Nashua on November 9th.



A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen from Pack Monadnock in Peterborough on November 3rd, 
one was seen there on the 7th, and one was seen on the 9th. Another GOLDEN 
EAGLE was reported from Hampstead on November 6th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen in Center Barnstead on November 7th.



A RED CROSSBILL was reported from Penacook on November 8th, and 5 were 
reported from Dixville Notch on the 4th.



A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen in Rye on November 3rd, and an ICELAND 
GULL was seen at Horseshoe Pond in Merrimack on November 4th.



A RAZORBILL was seen along the coast on November 8th, and 2 RAZORBILLS and 2 
GREAT SHEARWATERS were seen along the coast on the 7th.



A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was seen in Hampton Marsh on November 7th.



An AMERICAN WOODCOCK was reported from Orford on November 8th, and 1 was 
seen in Concord on the 7th.



A flock of 20 SNOW GEESE was reported from southwestern New Hampshire on 
November 3rd, and 35 BRANT were seen migrating along the coast on November 
7th.



An AMERICAN COOT continues to be seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord and was 
last reported on November 8th.



A PIED-BILLED GREBE was reported from Crawford Junction on November 8th.



5 GREATER SCAUP and 3 LESSER SCAUP were reported from Brindle Pond in 
Barnstead on November 7th.



A NORTHERN PINTAIL was reported from Glen, and 1 was seen in East Concord, 
both on November 7th.



A WHITE-WINGED SCOTER was seen at Martin Meadow Pond in Lancaster on 
November 5th, and a BLACK SCOTER was seen lingering in Newport from October 
27th to November 3rd.



2 FOX SPARROWS were seen in Wilton on November 7th, and 1 was reported from 
Hancock on the 8th.



A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was reported from Webster on November 9th.



A BARN SWALLOW, and 4 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were seen migrating along the 
coast on November 8th.



Late migrants reported from Concord on November 7th and 8th, included a GRAY 
CATBIRD, an EASTERN TOWHEE, a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, and a PALM WARBLER.



A flock of 10 AMERICAN PIPITS, and a flock of over 30 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were 
all reported from Concord on November 7th.



There were scattered reports of COMMON REDPOLLS, AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS, 
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, HERMIT THRUSHES, HORNED LARKS, SNOW BUNTINGS, and 
RUSTY BLACKBIRDS during the past week.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at Powwow Pond in Kingston on November 4th, and 
at least 2 were seen in Concord on the 7th.



RAPTOR migration has slowed, and the daily counting is tapering off at the 
Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory in Peterborough, and at the 
Carter Hill Observatory in Concord. Pack Monadnock has now tallied more than 
19,515 raptors since September 1st, and Carter Hill has counted over 8,785 
raptors since September 1st.
