We stumbled on this bird---almost literally---when we went to Quechee
Balloon Festival today. It appeared to be near death and possibly newly
fledged as well. DIstinguishing features included a strong,
thrasher-like beak and generally gray coloration with a lighter area on
the throat and rusty edges on the wing feathers. Could've been a
catbird, but I didn't think so.
