A WHITE-EYED VIREO was seen at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on May 10th.
A LARK SPARROW was seen in Hampton on May 8th.
A CASPIAN TERN was seen in Hampton Marsh on May 8th.
A SNOW GOOSE was seen in the fields at Morrill’s Farm in Penacook on May
5th.
7 probable RED CROSSBILLS were seen on East Weare Road in the Army Corps of
Engineer lands adjacent to Clough State Park in Weare on May 9th.
A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was seen at the Concord Airport on May 10th and 11th.
A BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was seen in Henniker on May 9th.
4 WILSON’S WARBLERS were seen along the railroad tracks at Horseshoe Pond in
Concord on May 9th, and 1 was seen in Rochester on May 11th.
A TENNESSEE WARBLER and 2 WILSON’S WARBLERS were seen in Hinsdale on May 7.
A TENNESSEE WARBLER, a BLACKPOLL WARBLER, and 2 WILSON’S WARBLERS were
reported from the Pickering Ponds in Rochester on May 8th.
A TENNESSEE WARBLER was reported from Sunapee on May 11th.
A BLACKPOLL WARBLER was seen in Weare on May 9th.
A MOURNING WARBLER and a SWAINSON’S THRUSH were reported from Hanover on May
11th.
2 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen in North Conway on May 7th.
An AMERICAN PIPIT was seen in Exeter on May 3rd, and 4 were seen in
Rochester on May 8th.
A GLOSSY IBIS was seen in West Lebanon on May 10th, and 2 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS were seen at Powderhouse Pond in Exeter on May 8th.
A SORA, 2 VIRGINIA RAILS, and an AMERICAN BITTERN were all seen at the Alice
Bemis Thompson Wildlife Sanctuary in North Sandwich on May 5th.
A SORA and 4 VIRGINIA RAILS were reported from Pickering Ponds in Rochester
on May 11th.
2 LAUGHING GULLS and 29 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were seen in coastal Rye on May
10th.
3 ORCHARD ORIOLES were reported from the NH Fish & Game Bellamy River WMA in
Dover on May 10th, and 1 was seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment
Facility on May 5th.
A BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was reported from Windham on May 11th.
Up to 8 PURPLE MARTINS were seen at Cross Beach Road in Seabrook on May 5th.
There were numerous sightings of SOLITARY SANDPIPERS, FISH CROWS, and
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS from scattered locations during the past week.
Highlights of a group birding trip to the Pondicherry National Wildlife
Refuge in Jefferson and the adjacent Airport Marsh in Whitefield included: a
NORTHERN GOSHAWK, a GREATER YELLOWLEGS, a LEAST SANDPIPER, 2 EASTERN
WHIP-POOR-WILLS, 2 BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS, 3 CAPE MAY WARBLERS, a
BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, a BLACKPOLL WARBLER, 4 WILSON’S WARBLERS, and 5
BOBOLINKS, all on May 10th.
