Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Product Development Engineer opening to join our Refrigeration Ice and Water organization.





Day to Day (what a typical day or week look like in this role)



In the Ice and Water team, you might work one day with marketing to align on specifications of a new project and the next be flying off to one of our manufacturing divisions to run the first prototype down the line and / or be there to catch any issues that may occur during production start on your new subsystem.  Every day you will meet with a variety of people from Manufacturing, codes, other product development groups, marketing, usability, food scientist, product approval engineers, material engineers, lab technicians and engineers, and several different levels of leadership.  Every day will be different with new sets of challenges and opportunities.





What You Will Do





  *   Work with process partners to define feature sets and key performance indicators

  *   Develop and integrate new ice and water dispensing systems for refrigerators

  *   Develop and integrate new ice making systems into a refrigerator or potentially a standalone product

  *   Work with platform teams, manufacturing, and procurement to develop best cost/quality solutions to improve the consumer experience within ice and water dispensing.

  *   Drive cost or quality Project within ice and water, take these learnings and apply them to model line projects (key responsibility)

  *   Ensure that robust product design principles are used for project development (design of experiments, components of variation, reliability testing, etc.)

  *   Conduct experiments to determine the critical design parameters and  means of controlling them

  *   Conduct FMEAs, work with product approval team to create test plans, work with the labs to conduct the tests, finalize drawings, release prints, work with procurement to procure parts / assemblies, take part in pre production builds, and ensure quality of the finished product

  *   Work with Codes Agencies to ensure all safety requirements are met.

  *   Work within the global organization to propagate learnings to other regions with similar design challenges

  *   Maintain project schedule to insure that critical project characteristics are met

Qualifications

What You Need To Succeed





  *   Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  *   A minimum of 2 years of project execution experience

  *   Engineering or classroom experience in ice and water preferred.

  *   Proficient in Microsoft Office

  *   Teamwork skills

  *   Communication skills

  *   Cad Experience (Pro-E would be a plus)
