Yesterday at 6 pm from Kilowatt, there were a minimum of 30 Turkey
Vultures soaring between the Wilder dam and I-91, in a couple of loose
kettles. I looked hard for a Black among them...
On the mostly (~80%) ice-free water above the dam: 1 Canada goose, 3
Mallards, 5 Common Mergansers, 2 Hoodeds, and 3 adult Ring-billed Gulls.
I stopped quickly before work this morning and found 2 male Ring-necked
Ducks above the dam, plus 4 Am. Tree Sparrows and a weakly singing Song
Sparrow. No vultures or gulls.
