This morning when we got to Mink Brook, we immediately saw 2 geese and 8 mallards. Quickly, I became suspicious, and indeed, they all turned out to be decoys. Shortly after I determined this, two kayakers paddled up dressed in camouflage and carrying guns. They hopped out of their boats, picked up all the birds by the necks, and dumped them back in the boats. Just a short way down the path, there is a sign saying, "No Hunting". Does anyone know what the boundaries of the no hunting area are?
The only live ducks on Mink Brook were two Hooded Mergansers way down at the other end.
