This is a reminder that the next bird walk in the 2012 Windsor County
Birding Quest series is to be on Sunday September 23, 2012. We'll
start at Lake Runnemede at 7:30 AM and possibly later continue to
another location in the town of Windsor, VT. Chris Rimmer, Ed Hack,
Spencer Hardy, and George Clark are to lead. This walk is free and
open to the public. We'll be looking for fall migrants of all kinds.
Road and carpooling instructions: From Exit 9 off I-91, turn south on
Route 5 towards Windsor. After going about 3 miles southward on Route
5, look for the Back Forty guns and ammo store on the left, with a
Price Chopper supermarket just beyond, also on the left. This walk
will begin at 7:30 AM by the entrance to a long driveway directly
across Route 5 from the Back Forty store. Please do not drive into
that driveway, vehicular use of which is reserved for local residents.
Parking is available along Route 5, but be sure your site is legal.
Carpoolers from towns around the Hanover/Norwich area are to leave
from the River Road commuter parking lot in Norwich by the Ledyard
Bridge at 7:00 AM that morning. We'll aim to return to Norwich by
11:00 AM.
