A new issue has shown up with recent updates to the Finder in OSX 10.7

This is specifically a Finder issue, but can appear to be a failure in
OpenAFS (and also CIFS shares). The Finder now fails to display the
contents of a folder on which it has only lookup access and not read
access. The symptom is a blank window, but no "Access denied" message.
Since the contents are not displayed, there is no way to click on the
folder you are trying to reach.

This will be encountered when trying to browse to a folder to which you
have read or read/write access, but which lives inside a folder to which
you have only lookup access.

Users should not notice problems getting to their home folders, but may
encounter this in getting to shared data volumes. Please contact
Research.Computing for assistance if you encounter this issue.

Command line tools are not affected.

Richard
