To Dartmouth OpenAFS client users:

  The latest release of OpenAFS client for Windows (1.7.6) is strongly 
recommended for all versions of Window XP, Vista and 7.  It solves many 
problems which Windows 7 users sometimes experience.  It is not so crucial 
for XP or Vista users --  1.6 works fine on those platforms -- but seems 
to run a little faster.

Any systems still running Windows 2000 should use the 1.6 release - that 
is the last version which will be supported for Win2000.

The installation requires selecting a couple of non-default options, so be 
sure to read the notes here:
