I suspect many others on the list are pondering the same question.

Frequently people get into a habit of doing something and then never
question why. New employees being trained might question it for a
moment, then adopt it. Innovation doesn't really happen that way.

I'm trying to explain to co-workers that there's no logical reason to
store cups upside-down in the cupboard. But all I can get as
explanation is "that's how we always do it". Habits take on a
different shape, too, when they're group habits...

I'm glad I can always rely on this list for good discussion...
