This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, July 12th, 
2011.



A POMARINE JAEGER, 8 MANX SHEARWATERS, 25 SOOTY SHEARWATERS, 55 GREATER 
SHEARWATERS, and 100 WILSONS STORM-PETRELS were counted on a cruise aboard 
the Granite State Whale Watch out of Rye Harbor on July 10th. The JAEGER was 
seen near the TERN colony on the Isles of Shoals.



An ICELAND GULL was seen in Hampton Harbor on July 9th.



An AMERICAN BITTERN, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS, and 7 LEAST SANDPIPERS were seen 
in Hampton Marsh on July 9th.



16 WILSON'S STORM-PETRELS, 8 GREAT EGRETS, and 6 SNOWY EGRETS were tallied 
along the coast on July 9th.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER and a GRAY JAY were seen on Mount Starr King in 
the White Mountains, and 5 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES were reported from the trail 
between Mount Starr King and Mount Waumbek, all on July 10th.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER, 3 GRAY JAYS, 2 YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHERS, and 3 
BICKNELL'S THRUSHES were reported from the Caps Ridge Trail off of Jefferson 
Notch Road on July 10th.



MERLINS displaying breeding behavior were reported from Errol and Cambridge 
during the past week.
