After yesterday's White-winged Scoters, I was out again today, hoping to
find other nice surprise.

Early this morning Ledyard was unproductive, but the water was low.
The water was still down this afternoon, so we decided on a quick trip up
the river.

We were rewarded with my first of the year Semipalmated Sandpiper. A
breeding plumage female at the oxbow across from pompy farm.
It took some time to get close enough to clinch the id, but the hard work
paid off.
