The last two afternoons I stopped by Campbell Flats Road in Norwich in search
of the Rusty Blackbird, without success. This morning I took a circuitous route
to work and stopped there again. Almost as soon as I got out of the car I heard
the bird singing; I found it in a tree across the road from the swampy area.
There was also a wary coyote crossing the snow-covered field.
