This morning (February 4) Ed Hack and I looked for birds on the
Connecticut River from Wilder and White River Junction, VT. Seven
Common Mergansers were swimming and diving in the water below the
Wilder Dam. Downstream from the Route 4 bridge between White River
Junction and West Lebanon were 75 Mallards and 5 Hooded Mergansers.

We were also pleased to see a mature Red-tailed Hawk flying near the
river in Hartford south of the village of White River Junction.

George
