I did a bit of 'scouting' this morning for next Saturday's 8:30-10:30 am
birding walk with George Clark, and anyone else who appears. George and
I will plan to meet participants in the parking lot along the right side
of Wilder Dam Road, and walk down to the dam from there. We'll likely
then walk around the neighborhood, mostly searching for birds associated
with feeders.
The adult Bald Eagle was perched below the Wilder Dam in a hardwood tree
on the Vermont side, ~150 yards south of the dam. There were 6 Common
Mergansers on the river. I then walked along Passumpsic Ave to its end
by the pumping station. Nothing of great note, but there are several
active feeders.
