A barred owl spent fifteen minutes this morning perched on a limb
directly above four of my feeders. This was a first. I suspect it was
looking for rodents feeding on ground-strewn seeds. We have both red
and gray squirrels, but none were around. The blue jays and juncos in
the area seemed unphased by the owl's presence. It flew off into the
woods and has not been seen since.
