A bird walk led by Chris Rimmer from 8:30 to 10:00 AM on Friday
December 31, 2010, will provide a last opportunity to take part in the
Norwich 2010 Birding Quest program. This last program of the year is
free and open to Norwich residents and others. Participants should
meet at 8:30 AM in front of Dan & Whit's on Main Street in Norwich.
Dress warmly, wear footgear suitable for walking on fairly level
surfaces, and bring binoculars if available. Children accompanied by
an adult are welcome. This walk is to be held regardless of weather
conditions, but be advised that precipitation, fog, or high winds can
reduce the number of birds found. Information on the kinds of birds
and their numbers encountered on this walk are to be included in the
results for the annual Hanover-Norwich Christmas Bird Count held that
day.

More than 165 species of birds have been found in Norwich during 2010.
A final summary for the Norwich 2010 Birding Quest is to be issued
sometime after the end of the year. Also to be forthcoming is an
announcement of the new 2011 Windsor County Birding Quest program.
