This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, May 12th, 
2010.



A CASPIAN TERN was seen at the Exeter Wasterwater Treatment Plant, and 
nearby Powderhouse Pond and Swasey Parkway in Exeter on May 12th.



A BLACK TERN was seen at the Airport Marsh pond in Whitefield on May 8th.



A BLACK TERN, a COMMON TERN, and a BONAPARTE'S GULL were all seen on 
Spofford Lake in Chesterfield, and a COMMON TERN was seen on the Connecticut 
River in Hinsdale on May 8th.



A LITTLE BLUE HERON was seen in the marshes west of Rye Harbor State Park on 
May 6th.



A BRANT was reported from Hampton on May 6th.



A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was seen in fields along Route 111 in North Hampton on 
May 9th.



A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was seen at Elm Brook Park in Hopkinton on May 8th.



There were several reports of SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, 
GREATER YELLOWLEGS, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, LEAST SANDPIPER, SEMIPALMATED 
SANDPIPER, and SOLITARY SANDPIPER during the past week.



2 AMERICAN BITTERNS were seen on Powder Mill Pond in Hancock on May 6th, and 
a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen at ODIORNE POINT STATE PARK in Rye on 
May 6th.



2 PIED-BILLED GREBES were reported from the Deer Hill Wildlife Management 
Area in Brentwood on May 8th.



2 pairs of BLUE-WINGED TEALS were seen at the Lamprey River Homestead 
Conservation Area in North Hampton on May 8th.



A pair of ORCHARD ORIOLES was reported from Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, 
two males were seen in Epping, and one was seen at Elm Brook Park in 
Hopkinton, all on May 8th. 2 pairs of ORCHARD ORIOLES were reported from the 
Bellamy River Wildlife Management Area in Dover on May 7th.



2 PURPLE MARTINS were seen migrating at the coast on May 6th.



350 BANK SWALLOWS were seen on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale on May 
12th, 700 TREE SWALLOWS were reported from the Pittsfield Wastewater 
Treatment Plant on May 10th, 30 CLIFF SWALLOWS were seen on the Connecticut 
River in Hinsdale, on May 8th, and over 1,000 SWALLOWS of mixed species were 
seen on Spofford Lake in Chesterfield on May 9th.



There were several reports of BLACKPOLL WARBLER, CAPE MAY WARBLER, WILSON'S 
WARBLER, CANADA WARBLER, MAGNOLIA WARBLER, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, and 
LINCOLN'S SPARROW during the past week.



An INDIGO BUNTING was seen in Concord on May 9th, and one was reported from 
Lebanon on May 12th.
