This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, May 5th, 
2010.



A TRICOLORED HERON was seen in the marshes adjacent to Odiorne Point State 
Park in Rye on May 2nd.



A BLACK VULTURE was seen soaring with four TURKEY VULTURES from the Tilton 
Street boat ramp in Nashua on May 3rd, and 2 were seen in Hinsdale circling 
over Mount Wantastiquet on May 4th.



A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at Frost Point at Odiorne Point State 
Park in Rye on May 1st.



A RAZORBILL was seen off the coast in Rye on May 2nd.



A SEASIDE SPARROW was seen in Hampton Marsh on May 1st.



3 PIPING PLOVERS were reported from the coast on April 30th.



An ORCHARD ORIOLE was seen in Hinsdale, and one was seen in Exeter, both on 
May 1st, and one was reported from Circuit Road in Kingston on May 3rd.



A BREWSTER'S WARBLER was reported from The Nature Conservancy's Lamprey 
River Preserve on Packers Falls Road in Durham on May 2nd, and a possible 
BLUE-WINGED/GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER hybrid was reported from Meserve Road in 
Durham on the 3rd.



A CAPE MAY WARBLER was seen on Meserve Road in Durham, and a TENNESSEE 
WARBLER was seen in Manchester, both on May 3rd.



A RED-THROATED LOON continues to be seen on Spofford Lake in Chesterfield 
and was last reported on May 3rd.



At least 6 PURPLE MARTINS were reported from the coast during the past week.



A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was reported from the area around the Nashua South High 
School on May 3rd.



A WHIP-POOR-WILL was reported from Epping on May 4th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Concord, and a pair is nesting on the 
Brady-Sullivan Tower in Manchester. A webcam that views the nest can be

A "kettle" of 25 BROAD-WINGED HAWKS was seen in Dover on May 2nd.



Numerous migrant birds were reported during the past week, including: 
AMERICAN REDSTART, NASHVILLE WARBLER, BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER, 
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER, PALM WARBLER, PRAIRIE 
WARBLER, BLUE-WINGED WARBLER, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, OVENBIRD, NORTHERN 
PARULA, CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, CANADA WARBLER, YELLOW 
WARBLER, YELLOW-THROATED VIREO, RED-EYED VIREO, WARBLING VIREO, WOOD THRUSH, 
VEERY, EASTERN KINGBIRD, LEAST FLYCATCHER, GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER, 
RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, BARN SWALLOW, BANK SWALLOW, CLIFF SWALLOW, 
CHIMNEY SWIFT, SCARLET TANAGER, ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, INDIGO BUNTING, 
BOBOLINK, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, AMERICAN PIPIT, SOLITARY SANDPIPER, LEAST 
SANDPIPER, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, WILLET, BLACK-CROWNED 
NIGHT-HERON, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, and FISH CROW.
