Celebrate the arrival of mid February with a bird walk in Norwich on
Saturday February 13, 2010.
Meet at 8:30 AM outside Dan & Whit's general store on Main Street in
downtown Norwich, Vermont. Norwich resident George Clark will lead a
leisurely birding trip, the second in the Norwich 2010 Birding Quest
series. Be prepared to walk on mostly level ground around Norwich
village for about an hour. Dress warmly and bring binoculars if
available. Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. This walk
is free and open to both Norwich residents and others. The walk will
take place regardless of weather conditions, but be aware that poor
weather will reduce the chances of seeing many birds.
The goal of the Norwich 2010 Birding Quest is to find and identify as
many kinds of birds as possible within Norwich during calendar year
2010. Join the fun and learn more about the Quest on this invigorating
walk. A challenge on this walk will be to find any early signs of
spring among the birds.
The website <http://www.vtecostudies.org/quest/> now includes a blog
covering the Norwich Quest bird walk held on New Year's Day and also a
list of many of the kinds of birds seen in Norwich during January.
