Lake Ninevah is always interesting during fall migration. We have
been birding there since 1992 and this is the first year that we have
seen Greater Yellowlegs. The bird was foraging from a large rock
that was sticking out of the water on the east side of the pond.
Also, when we arrived at the lake, we saw two adult loons take off
and fly back and forth across the lake, getting higher and higher and
then they flew off over the mountains. We thought maybe the parent
loons were leaving, but later in the afternoon, we saw the two adults
and the two young all together. The family was quite nervous about
the Bald Eagle.
