While on a 20 mile one-day hiking traverse of the Presidential Range I was delighted
to find 4 AMERICAN PIPITS, one of which was performing a display flight and song
in the alpine zone on the west side of Mt. Washington within 1 mile (by trail)
of the summit. I had never before watched an American Pipit sing.
