Responding to the message from E. Tobiasson: 
A decade ago when we were first warned publicly about the danger of bird feeders
attracting bears, Berrill  Farms management ordered people to take their bird
feeders in on April 1. When I told about  in the math deparatment's tea time,
one of the female grad student's opened wide as saucers.. Said she, "I'm going
to get me a bird feeder!"
