This morning at my flat feeder, I had both a male and a female white winged
crossbill. The beautiful red color of the male caught my attention.
....gorgeous.....while photographing the male I realized that the female was mixed
in with the many pine siskens and goldfinches at the same flat feeder. I
have never had either of these birds at my feeders here on the top of Hurricane
Hill in WRJ. My resource books indicates that they generally winter further
north. Does anyone know if this is an unusual sighting?....I have photos...
if anyone is interested I will email a jpeg.
