About noon today I was returning from errands. I noted a dark colored bird fly from our feeding area. A short time later I took the dog out to her kennel. Heard a RW Blackbird. I was amazed that I have one in my area already. I am higher than George pond ( which is still 99.9% ice covered) where I am likely to see RW Blackbirds first. The other place I am likely to see RW blackbirds is the on ramp area of Exit 17 on I-89.
I have not seen any Bohemian Waxwings in my yard this year, sad to say, or even on 4A or George Hill or the trees at Mascoma Bank in Enfield as I meander about.
I guess the feed is still in good supply. nearer the Ct. River.
Time to check the Hummingbird migration map for 2008 to watch their progress north.
