Great winter birding on this first day of school break!
Pine Grosbeaks:
24 along Christian St. in Hartford
~35 total, in the Norwich Senior Housing / Cliff St. area in Norwich
with starlings
(higher proportion of males than we've been seeing)
Northern Shrike (immature) along Christian St. in Hartford
(specifically, #1594)
Snow Buntings (4) at shoulder of Bragg Hill Road
Common Redpolls (~20) at home, yesterday (20 Dec.)
Also, American Robin (1), 3-5 waxwings (flying, probably Bohemian) and
Starlings (100+) in Norwich
