Sunday I had an American Tree Sparrow several times.
Did not see it today.
Yesterday and today noted a rather large bird, gray brown in color. Today I was able to get a better look. It was on my new metal feeder that we fill with sunflower hearts and black oil sunflower seeds. I noted a reddish rump and then a reddish head. (It was sitting in the seed tray on the side away from me.) It was a immature Pine Grosbeak. I thought they came in flocks. I was suprised to see it at the feeders.
The large male Turkey is still coming to feed. Today I got to see him in flight. He was on the south part of my yard. He flew when I went out to let our Golden Retriever in from her kennel which is on the other side of the house.
He came back and ate until 4:15.
I have not seen any Redpolls here yet. I usually get them later than those who live near the Ct. River.
