Director of the Butler Multimedia Learning Center
One year replacement to serve as Director of Randolph-Macon's Butler
Multimedia Learning Center. The successful candidate will be eligible
to apply for the permanent position in a search to be conducted during
the coming academic year.
Duties
Supervise selection, development and use of up to date multimedia
materials for a variety of modern languages.
Support the interdisciplinary first year colloquia and other courses by
providing technology training to faculty and students.
Hire, train and supervise student support staff.
Teach 2 courses per year in Spanish or French
Requirements
Minimum MA in Foreign/Second Language Education, Instructional
Technology, Applied Linguistics, a foreign language or related field.
Minimum two years experience using or supporting the use of technology
for foreign/second language instruction.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of foreign
or second language educational technology, a clear vision of the goals
and methods of foreign/second language pedagogy and the effective use
and integration of technology into foreign language teaching and
learning, and experience teaching a foreign language. Strong
interpersonal, communication, organizational and administrative skills
also required. Evidence of teaching excellence required.
