I watch a pair of tufted titmice 'attacking' a gray squirrel sitting on a limb.
Though several minutes went by, the squirrel was not particularly annoyed or
very agitated. As I watched it became clearer that the birds seem only
interested in pulling hairs from its tail. The squirrel finally repositioned
himself with his tail tucked underneath and the birds flew on. Spring
[nesting] behavior?...new to me.
