Ursinus College, an independent, nationally ranked, coeducational liberal
arts college in suburban Philadelphia, seeks to maintain its leadership i
n
instructional technology through the continued development of programs th
at
provide faculty with needed resources and support. Ursinus has a well-
established universal computing program that provides all faculty and
students with laptops and access to multimedia development tools.
The Information Technology Department seeks applicants with applied
technical expertise to support faculty in a variety of disciplines. The
Instructional Technologist will work with faculty at varying levels of
expertise to produce multimedia and interactive learning modules and will
serve as a member of information and instructional technology services
teams to provide support for software and web-based applications used to
enhance teaching and learning.
Experience in an academic environment is desired and demonstrated technic
al
expertise in the development of Web sites, computer graphics, digital med
ia
projects and interactive applications is required. Knowledge of
instructional design is an asset, but the primary need is for a hands-on,
technically advanced multimedia and digital media developer. The ability
to
work well with others to understand their needs in applying technology to
teaching and learning objectives and then to follow through with the
development of instructional technology applications is essential. Must b
e
able to handle multiple projects concurrently. An advanced degree is
desirable. Salary is negotiable and dependent upon demonstrated expertise
and experience.
