Colleagues, when we were using cassette tapes, I found the niftiest
metal cabinet to keep them in. The drawers were really designed for 8
1/2 x 11 sheets of paper, but they were the perfect height for
cassettes without boxes.

Suddenly this semester we have more CDs --WAY more CDs! And DVDs too!
Have you found a good way to house these? They need to be accessible
for checkout. We have to be able to see what's what, and I'm thinking
they should probably be stored on edge, if they aren't fixed within
the conatiner. I would rather not use counter space if I can avoid it.

While you are at it, any recommendations for the CD (DVD) container
itself? So far we have poly sleeves, paper sleeves, vinyl sleeves,
thin cases and thick cases. Publishers send sets in little
spiral-bound booklets with individual envelopes that are a pain in
the neck, or in multiple-CD cases, which are awkward for checking out
one CD.

I welcome suggestions.
