This is my first posting! Yesterday, walking to the back section of Lake Runnemede, I saw 2 pairs of Common Mergansers, 2 pairs of Hooded Mergansers, 2 pairs of Canadian geese and 1 pair of crows.
Seeing one of the geese couples standing on an old bleached fallen log, I realized how good their camoflage is.With the branches coming up and the row of tree trunks fallen in the water, the geese blended in perfectly. After watching them all intently, I felt more connected with life.
Back home, in the town of Windsor, I heard many small songbirds and saw a pair of cardinals.I am just starting to learn the different types of birds.
