While at Burger King in W. Lebanon we watched a N. Mockingbird feeding in the grass and garden area between the drive up side and the fence. It acted much like a Robin as it hunted for food. It would fly and perch on the fence then fly back down to the ground a recheck the area. We must have watched for a good 5 min.
This even. I went outside to listen for Woodcock. Heard Robins squabbling then noted a small football like bird fly N over my yard and beyond the neighbors house. I'm sure it was a woodcock.
Last week I noted several Cedar Waxwings in my apple tree. At least 8 flew off but not far. I watched several perch in the tops of tall maples along the woods. They would fly from their perch as if they were catching bugs and return to their perch. I watched them for 5- 10 min.
