Thanks for all your ideas! I did listen to the audio of the red fox that
someone linked, and that is definitely not it, though it IS what I have
often heard around my house that I only figured out what was about a year
ago. It is a horrible noise, but there is a video online of a fox making
the noise, and when you see them do it, it's not so horrific because
they're cute!

I have not yet found an audio of a fisher at screaming. I have found some
fisher cat sounds, but not this sound.

I hope, though that it was a Barred Owl because I have a small dog that was
running out after the noise, and I think he's too big for a Barred Owl to
attack, but maybe not a fisher cat (sp). I haven't heard a porcupine
scream, either. I hope it wasn't porcupine because my dogs have been in
enough of those! And i hope Skunks don't scream!

I HAVE heard a Barred Owl out there fairly often, and very often fairly
near my house too. Once I heard them doing a group Monkey hooting session,
which was a BIT creepy, but also cute.

Thanks again, and if anyone has any more ideas, or the same ideas, I'd love
to hear them!
