Highlights early this morning at the backyard feeding area in the
village section Norwich, VT, have included a Common Grackle (first of
the year here), 2 Carolina Wrens (at least one of them singing), and 2
White-throated Sparrows. The latter two species have wintered in this
vicinity, but the grackle is presumably a newly arrived spring migrant
from the south.
