The last Friday in 2006, I stopped at Burger King in West Lebanon for
lunch and spotted a Mockingbird in the trees behind the parking lot,
preening. I didn't think much of it until I came through again this last
Thursday and spotted one in the same exact place. I thought these birds
ate insects...not French Fries!

Also of note- it seems that a large number of crows have established a
new rookery in the Centerra Park area in Lebanon. Almost a month ago I
noticed for the first time that crows were streaming past my window as
each day drew to a close. And on several occaisions, when I left the
building just after dark, I could hear them settling down for the night
in the nearby woods- a very noisy process!

I haven't had an oppurtunity to actually count them. It will be
interesting to see if this becomes a permanent arrangement.
