Six red-wing blackbirds passed through this morning about 11 AM, stopping to check things out underneath our tree feeders here in the hills near the Thetford/Strafford border. They first appeared up here on April 2nd last year so, despite the snow that's drifting down, spring is on the way (and perhaps even a bit ahead of schedule).

We usually have a pretty healthy population of red-wings throughout the summer, but I don't expect to see them regularly for some time yet. What a lift to see these guys, though!
