This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, January 22nd, 
2018.



19 NORTHERN FULMARS, 105 DOVEKIES, 11 COMMON MURRES, and 2 ATLANTIC PUFFINS 
were all tallied at Jeffrey’s Ledge in New Hampshire offshore waters on 
January 19th.



20 RAZORBILLS, and 2 BLACK GUILLEMOTS were seen at the coast on January 
21st.



A SANDHILL CRANE continues to be seen in Rollinsford, and was last reported 
from near Main Street on January 22nd.



A SNOWY OWL was found in Keene on January 2nd and continues to be reported. 
It has been seen near Ash Brook Road, Production Avenue, and in the general 
area (including Hyundai, Subaru, and Days Inn) and was last reported on 
January 20th.



A SNOWY OWL was seen from Cross Beach Road in Seabrook on January 21st.



A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen soaring near Sawyer Park in Kensington on 
January 22nd.



A male BARROW’S GOLDENEYE continues to be seen at Stark Landing on the 
Merrimack River in Manchester, and was last reported on January 20th.



A female BARROW’S GOLDENEYE continues to be seen on the Cocheco River in 
Dover, and was last reported on January 18th.



A WOOD DUCK was seen in Nashua on January 22nd, a NORTHERN PINTAIL was seen 
in Cornish on January 19th, and 2 RED-THROATED LOONS were seen at Adams 
Point in Durham on January 16th.



A male NORTHERN PINTAIL was seen in Exeter, and 2 more were seen on the 
coast in Rye, all on January 21st.



A GREAT CORMORANT was seen at Partridge Brook in Westmoreland on January 
21st.



Over 60 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were reported from the coast on January 20th.



3 ICELAND GULLS were seen in Rochester on January 20th.



An estimated 100 SNOW BUNTINGS was seen at Woodmont Orchard in Hollis on 
January 18th, and a flock of a dozen was seen in Derry on the 20th.



3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were seen at the Dillant-Hopkins Airport in Swanzey on 
January 20th.



A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was seen in Exeter on January 21st.



2 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS were seen at Great Bay Farm in Greenland on January 
21st.



A FOX SPARROW was seen in Rochester, and 1 was seen in Deerfield, both on 
January 19th.



A FIELD SPARROW was seen in Rye on January 21st.



A CHIPPING SPARROW was seen in Salem on January 18th, one was seen in 
Nottingham on the 18th, and one was seen in Rochester the 19th.



An EASTERN TOWHEE continues to be seen at a private residence in Wilton and 
was last reported on January 19th.



A PINE WARBLER was seen in Rye on January 21st.



A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET and a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER were seen off of Dearborn 
Road in Greenland on January 20th. A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET was seen in 
Kensington on the 22nd.



A WINTER WREN was seen in Portsmouth on January 21st, and a HERMIT THRUSH 
was seen in Dover on January 22nd.



3 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at Kinsman Pond Shelter in the White 
Mountains on January 20th.



More than 15 RED CROSSBILLS were reported from towns in the southwest during 
the past week. These birds are nomadic and follow food sources(evergreen 
cone seeds).



YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS were seen in Exeter, and Strafford, and there were 
a few NORTHERN FLICKERS and RED-BELLIED WOODPECKERS, all reported during the 
past week.



A RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD was seen in Concord on January 17th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Concord on January 19th, and 1 was seen in 
Hampton on the 21st.



A MERLIN was seen in Lebanon on January 19th, 1 was seen in Greenland on the 
21st, and 1 was seen in Nashua on the 21st.



Single RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were seen in Exeter, Salem, Dover, and Wakefield 
during the past week.



A TURKEY VULTURE was seen in Exeter on January 21st.



A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was seen at a birdfeeder in Berlin on January 18th.



3 FISH CROWS were seen in Salem on January 18th.



An estimated 1,500 AMERICAN CROWS have been seen roosting in the evenings in 
the Laconia area during the past week.
