January 8
Woodstock, Vt.

In an attempt to find the Pintail that was seen on the Woodstock CBC, George Clark and I visited the Ottauquechee flood plain early this morning. Although we were successful in locating the Pintail, a more interesting find was a Yellow-rumped Warbler. It was in the same location I had seen one on December 8, 2011 and the same area where Sara Eisenhauer thought she heard one on the Woodstock CBC. Unfortunately, we could not get a look at the bird and chose not to call it. In hindsight that appears to have been a mistake.
