This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, June 19th, 2017.



A BROWN BOOBY was discovered on Cobbett’s Pond in Windham on June 10th and 
was still present on the 19th. The bird has been seen from the town beach 
located at #45 Cobbett’s Pond Road. If you try to see the bird, do not park 
along Cobbett’s Pond Road, do not block traffic, and do not stand in the 
road. You may need to park on a side road and walk to the beach. Please 
respect both property and privacy rights.



2 MISSISSIPPI KITES were seen near their nest in Newmarket, 1 was been seen 
near the Great Bay Discovery Center in Greenland, and 1 was seen near 
Stratham Hill Park, all during the past week.



2 AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS were seen at Odiorne Point State Park on June 
17th, and 1 was seen at Lunging Island, one of the Isles of Shoals, on June 
12th.



A pair of LEAST TERNS is nesting on Hampton Beach.



An adult YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen in a small pond near the start 
of Sleepy Hollow Drive in Greenland on June 15th and 16th, and again on the 
19th.



There was an unconfirmed report of a SUMMER TANAGER from Darcie Drive in 
Jaffrey on June 14th.



3 GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS were reported from the Concord Airport on June 17th, 
and 2 were reported from Stearns Drive in Hinsdale on the 15th.



A LAWRENCE’S WARBLER, which is a hybrid between a BLUE-WINGED WARBLER and a 
GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, was seen in Rollinsford on June 14th.



12 PURPLE MARTINS were seen at Cross Beach Road in Seabrook on June 17th, 
and 3 were seen at Fort Constitution in New Castle on June 14th.



2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were reported from Tilton Hill Road in Pittsfield 
on June 14th.



There were several reports of FOX SPARROWS from the White Mountains and Coos 
County during the past week.



10 BICKNELL’S THRUSHES were tallied by a birder hiking the King Ravine Trail 
on Mount Adams in the White Mountains on June 17th.



Lingering migrants still being reported during the past week included a 
BUFFLEHEAD and a RED-NECKED GREBE on the coast, a RING-NECKED DUCK in 
Plainfield, and a LESSER SCAUP in Rochester.
